Race details for all 8 events

The Pacific Coast Weekend begins on Friday and the Celebration continues through Sunday. The weekend festival includes a Health & Wellness Expo, the Beer & Food garden, fun, camaraderie, and some of the best scenic racing you will find in the country.

Sunset 5K Sand Run & Walk:  The Sunset 5K Sand Run & Walk will take you along the shoreline for magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and the amazing sunsets it showcases. This is a great event for your family and friends, kick off your weekend with a stroll in the sand, or see how fast you can complete your race earning your place on the podium for the 1st Annual Pacific Coast Running Festival!

Sand Marathon:  Embrace all the grit and the wind our fine Pacific Ocean has in store for you.  You run starts on Bolstad at the beach’s edge and heads south to Beard’s Hollow where you make your turnaround to head north.  Now your other side of your face will receive that gentle breeze from the sea as the long leg begins all the way to Ocean Park.  With visions of clam chowder before your eyes (or was that more sand?), you head back south to the finish line.  There will be at least two aid stations along the way for you and, once finished, you can enjoy the finish line festivities, including the food, well deserved beverage and award ceremony.

Half-Marathon, 10k & 5K Run/Walks:  These courses begin and end at the iconic Long Beach Arch.  You will run along wide, paved, very scenic bike paths that will take you along the peninsula with incredible views of the Pacific Ocean. Once finished, participants can enjoy the finish line festivities, including the Health & Wellness Expo and award ceremony.

Tour de Pacific Bike: This non-competitive bike tour offers fantastic scenery allowing friends and family to ride parts of the Half Marathon course and see the Long Beach Peninsula as they travel to downtown Ilwaco to enjoy the Saturday Market and the Ilwaco Waterfront. It’s a great way for our athletes to preview parts of the course at an easy pace before race day. These rides offer a chance for the whole family to participate together in the same event. The roads used are very well-maintained with very little traffic. Make the Tour de Pacific event part of your family getaway and enhance your enjoyment of the Pacific Coast Running Festival. This is a non-timed, non-competitive, open course that uses much of the Discovery Trail as it’s course.  Road rules will need to be followed at all times.  This is a supported event with water, energy drink, fruit and energy bars at the water stations along the course and a post-event snacks once you finish.

Kids Races: We like to get the kids involved at a young age so they develop the habit of a healthy lifestyle and the love for sport and competition. Our 1 mile and 1/2 mile Dash for the kiddos and the goal of all of our kids’ races is to offer a fun, non-competitive, no pressure event for our future generation of athletes.

The Long Beach Merchants Association Kids Program

The Long Beach Merchants Association Kids Programs supports their kids meal and backpack program. Many families struggle to eat healthy meals and snacks every day. Food4kids Backpacks works to help low income families bridge the time between nutritious meals provided at school. Each Friday afternoon elementary school children receive a backpack of healthy food and snacks. On Monday the child returns the empty backpack to their school nurse or the office to be restocked with food for the following Friday. For more information on how your donations benefit this community, please reach out to us for additional information.

The Pacific Coast Running Festival is proud to support High School sports programs and other non-profit organizations through this event and all the races and fundraisers on the Why Racing Events calendar each year. Some of the High School sports programs rely solely on the donations made via these events. Contributions over the years from these NW races and fundraisers have exceeded $3 million. We are very thankful to the athletes, sponsors, vendors, partners and volunteers who contribute to the success of our events, allowing us to offer this support!
