PDX Triathlon Festival
Swim: All swim distances are counter-clockwise, one loop courses in Blue Lake. You will keep the buoys on your left. We will instruct you on race morning at the pre-race debriefing which color and how many buoys you need to navigate for your specific race distance. Water temperature are typically in the mid to upper 60’s.
Bike: The Super Sprint / My 1st Tri is a 10 mile, 2-loop Bike Course along Marine Drive – flat and fast! The Sprint bike course is a 12 mile course (local traffic only) on Marine Drive along the Columbia River. The Olympic distance 24.8 mile (40k) bike course will head East on Marine Drive for an out and back section and then will head back west almost to the John Gleason Boat ramp. Both courses are fast, flat and scenic along the Columbia river with beautiful views of Mt. hood. The courses are closed however local residents and businesses can still access the course so always ride defensively and safely and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Be cautious at all turn-arounds and any turns.
RUN COURSES: The Run courses are flat and fast within Blue Lake Park, with an out and back section on the Marine Drive bike path. The Marine Drive path has many uneven sections so be sure to pick up your feet. When you enter the park after your last water station, you will head off-road for a bit down a steep dirt trail. Be careful throughout this section of trail and path.
Water/Electrolyte Aid Stations
Water/Electrolyte Aid stations: You will have access to hydration twice during the Sprint Courses and four times during the Olympic Distances. We will place a porta-potty at the approximately 1.5 miles along the run course. Sprint athletes will hit it once and Olympic athletes will hit it twice. Multiple porta potties and park bathrooms will be available at the transition area.
We’re honored to partner with these great companies to provide you the absolute best race experience. We couldn’t do it without them so please show them the LOVE and support them as a thank you for all they do for our community.
