We approach each Why Racing Event as a challenge to give our athletes an experience that they can’t wait to tell their friends and family about and they can’t wait to come back and do it again! With the amazing Why Racing Event team, it is my goal to make sure our athletes feel the WHY LOVE that we all provide.
Having grown up in the Northwest, we are entrenched in this community allowing me the ability to proivide an experience that our athletes have come to expect from Why Racing Events. I love to be part of a team that strives to provide the best racing experience for our athletes.
It is a family affair. We can’t do this without our family around us. From our kids, to my family and friends who have volun-TOLDED, to our sponsors, vendors, volunteers and athletes, our “WHY” is because we love the people! We love the competitive edge, we love to see people push their limits, we love the environment and we love our community.

REGISTRATION AND PROMOTIONS MANAGER
Those who can, should!
Our races start with Registration, so every part of the experience is important to me. My goal is to make every athlete feel like family! I want to see athletes and families grow into each event, returning year after year because it’s the best event they’ve ever been to and they can’t wait to do it again!
I’m proud to be part of a company that gives back in every way possible, donating time and money to local charities, non-profits, clubs, and schools through every event.
If you need to contact me, please email me at email@example.com
My WHY? Because everyone has the potential for big things, no matter how small they are. Because I can make a difference. Because as long as I can run, I will. Because it matters.
I grew up at WHY Racing Events and love the atmosphere of our event venues. I am so excited to be part of making the athlete experience as amazing as possible. WHY provides so many opportunities to connect with our community, supporting local beneficiaries at each event, I take pride in connecting our local volunteers to our athletes. My goal is to assist our volunteers so they can be the best support crew ever and have so much fun that they want to volunteer at our events all the time.
If you need to contact me, please email me at Brock@whyracingevents.com.
My WHY? To better myself by taking care of my body and mind through running. The more opportunities I have to clear the air and connect with nature, the better I feel and the more I have to offer my family, friends, and community.
Best Assistant this side of the Mississippi
I was born and raised in Canada, but I’ve lived in the USA for twenty-two years. I’ve lived on both coasts of the United States, in the PNW since 2000. I’ve worked for WHY Racing for five years in almost every aspect of the event. I love how happy our athletes are to participate in our events and the special niche we’ve created for them, our first-timers, those who want to prove to themselves that they can, and our final finishers, watching them cross the finish line, it’s an amazing feeling. I love that my whole family can enjoy race day with me, WHY Racing is truly a WHY Family. You will find me at the Registration tent, guiding traffic in our transition areas, or at the finish line directing traffic and assisting athletes. I support anyone wanting to connect to the race day experience, working hard to connect local businesses and getting them more exposure to our industry. If you are interested in becoming a vendor or learning more about who our race experience can boost your business, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
My WHY? To be a living Example to others but mostly to my children…to love…to be kind…to work hard…to have integrity…to have emotional and spiritual balance…to serve others without expecting anything in return.
SWIM COURSE MANAGER
I grew up in Texas on a huge lake where I started water-skiing at the old age of five and was taking the boat out by myself by the time I was twelve. I went into the Army my senior year of High School so I could graduate early. I spent six years in the Army as a Recovery Specialist. Not as ominous as it sounds. Basically whatever the Army could lose, break, or crash, I would go find and recover. During that time, I fell in love with scuba diving and surfing. I have actually had a Dive Master tell me that my certification card was older than he was, 1974. Now days I live in a floating home on Hayden Island and ski, wakeboard, and surf as often as possible. I took up kite boarding last year but still not very good at it yet, still learning something every day. Nowadays I am the Director of Engineering and Security at the Hotel Monaco here in Portland. I’ve worked with several hotels in my 35 years of doing this and have many stories that I am willing to share such as getting to meet three presidents over the years because of my security background. I look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting new friends on this next adventure.
My WHY? Anything water related…Paddle-boarding, surfing, wakeboarding, water-skiing, boating, kite-surfing, scuba diving and just hanging on the water.
