What’s Your Why?

Vikki Gasko Green

I didn’t start exercising until I was 45 years old. I didn’t start running until I was 49 years old. My friend Amy asked me if I wanted to do a running event, and I agreed as long as I just walked. ” I DON’T RUN!” I said.

That changed when I saw how much fun the events were, and I got a little competitive.

My WHY for running is for my sanity, exercise, health, and FUN. I love the fanfare, the costumes, the starting line, and the finish line. I love the camaraderie among those that attend the events.  I love the packet pickup and seeing the happy faces greeting me and wearing the new shirt. I love the Medals!!!! I run because I feel like I’ve achieved something.  I run because it feels so good to do something good for my body to live a healthier life.
